Lower the ABV of your favorite cocktails with these genius tricks!
A cocktail without alcohol is by no means the same as alcohol without a cocktail. So, we asked some of our bartender friends for their tips on how to make more with less. What we learned is if you start with none, you can’t make more. But you also can’t make less (because you can always have more than nothing). Sound familiar?
So, simply take your favorite recipe and add more than you want, but less than you need. As long as what you need is not less than you like. Because then you might not like what you want. And that is a curious place to be!
Join us this April 1st as we go bottoms-up with a contrary collection of simple nonsensical sips.
TOPSY-TURVY-TINI
This upside-down martini is dedicated to the friends who are always there to uplift us and for whom up can be down as long as the glass is always half-full.
1 oz Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur
2 oz dry vermouth
olive
Stir the liquors with ice in a mixing glass, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with the olive
LACK-A-DAISY-RITA
The rule of thumb for a perfect Rita,
is a cup full of lime and tequila, by the liter.
But the loveliest way to twiddle the rules
is gin liqueur as a cheater!
2 oz Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur
1 oz tequila blanco
1 oz lime juice
Shake ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker and serve up or on the rocks
CONTRAPOLITAN
If night’s darkest hour is before dawn, yet its happiest hour is at dusk, then would reversing a classic Cosmopolitan at 5pm on a Thursday be considered ahead of its time? We certainly like to think so.
1 ½ oz Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur
½ oz lemon vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
½ oz lime juice
Shake ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker and serve up in a chilled martini glass
