Hello Ghouls! Come find us in the Pomp & Witchy Parlor this All Hallows Eve for cocktails of the most spirited kind. Whether you’re seeing off visitors at a distance from the porch or creeping out into the neighborhood darkness, you’ll want to fortify your defenses with one of these spooky sanguineous sips.

Rose Bleed Negroni

Bitter and twisted, the Negroni is the perfect pre-or-post trick-or-treating treat. Traditionally mixed with full strength gin, we’ve dialed down the ABV in this blood orange version to conserve stamina for that second go around the haunted house.

1 oz Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur
1 oz Aperol or blood orange amaro
½ oz dry vermouth
½ oz sweet vermouth
blood orange slice

Add liquor ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until well chilled.  Strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass and garnish with the orange slice

Webs of Whimsy

If you’re looking to lure away a few of those wayward arachnids that lurk around the Parlor the night before Saints Day, look no further than the sticky web created by our good friend Christina Mercado @shakestirpour with her creepy creation, Webs of Whimsy.

1½  oz Pomp & Whimsy
1 oz lemon juice
¾ oz apple cider
½ oz cinnamon spice syrup
1 egg white
½ oz red wine
Optional garnish: black gel icing

Shake Pomp & Whimsy, lemon, cider, syrup and egg white, with ice until chilled. Strain back into the tins and toss ice.  Dry shake for 20 seconds. Pour red wine into the coupe, strain cocktail over red wine, into the coupe.  As the egg white settles, draw a spiral with the black gel icing and pull with a toothpick from the center to the edges in order to create the web.

The Scarlet Cauldron

“Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble”. Though we may have omitted the snake tongue and lizard leg due to seasonal availability, we think the Weird Sisters of Macbeth would have approved of our ghoulish punch. Mixed with Pomp & Whimsy, red wine and seasonal spices, one cup is a charm of bubbling trouble; two is a sorcerer’s fateful double.

1 part Pomp & Whimsy Gin Liqueur
3 parts red wine
1 part apple cider
1 part blackberry-pear syrup*
club soda

Add first four ingredients to a punch bowl filled with ice.  Top with club soda to taste. Garnish with thinly sliced pear slices and blackberries.

*To make the blackberry-pear syrup, heat 1 cup sugar with 1 cup of water on the stovetop and add 1 cup of pear slices, 1 cup of blackberries, 1 vanilla bean, and 1-2 star anise. Simmer for five minutes, strain, and cool.
